Participation Criteria

 This doctoral research study, conducted through Grand Canyon University, seeks to understand how . U.S. e-commerce business owners or managers describe the adaptive strategies used to support their company's.
The information below outlines the eligibility criteria, confidentiality protections, and consent process for participation

Participation Criteria

 To qualify for this study, participants must:

  • Be owners or managers of a U.S.-based e-commerce business that operated during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022).
     
  • Have held decision-making responsibility during that period (such as operations, logistics, or leadership decisions).
     
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
     
  • Be willing to participate in an approximately 60-minute virtual interview (via Zoom or Google Meet).
     
  • Be comfortable discussing general business strategies and adaptive decisions.
    (No company financial or proprietary information will be collected.)
     

Confidentiality

Participation Criteria

 All responses will remain confidential and used solely for academic research purposes.
No company names, financial data, or identifying details will appear in reports or publications.
All research records will be stored securely by the researcher in accordance with Grand Canyon University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies.
Participants may withdraw at any time without penalty or consequence. 


Note: Particpants will not be asked to provide company financial data, or clients records, or proprietary business information.  The interview will focus only on professional experiences and leadership decision during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consent Process

 

Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria will receive a consent form describing:

  • The purpose and procedures of the study,
     
  • Participants’ rights,
     
  • Data protection measures, and
     
  • How to contact the researcher or IRB for questions.
     

Participation will begin only after the consent form has been reviewed and signed by the participant.
